The car business is a funny thing. It latches onto you in a way that you can't let go. I remember reading something years ago that said your calling will be something that you're passionate about - something you enjoy and won't have to force. I think they were right!
After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Communications, I quickly found out that life doesn’t always care about your plans. My “big time college job” wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, and, as it turns out, bills still have to be paid anyways! :) I ended up landing in a dealership as a representative in the BDC, and all I knew about dealerships was that they needed to sell cars. It didn't take long to realize that this job offered something unexpected: endless challenges. As soon as you figure it out, it changes! I was in.
A few years, several positions, and a lot of help later, the organization opened one of the largest dealerships in the state: and I took the opportunity to go as the GSM and eventual GM. This isn't shared for a participation trophy, but to portray that I get it. I get the daily challenges, the juggling of a staff of 100 with a team of what feels like a thousand customers that all need you. The staff - the relationship you get to have while cultivating that team - is special. It's what matters the most.
I left that job - the best I'd ever had, to start this company. Now, I enjoy all of the things that I loved the most about being a GM - with the ability to focus on the key specifics that make a difference.
To wrap up, a few things that make us, "us": My husband of seven years, Lee, and I live with our two dogs on the outskirts of Knoxville. He is an engineer by trade and a pilot for fun. (Yes, I ordered him from a catalog.) Our dogs are Samson and Oakley, a bernese mountain dog and a beagle mix. The real stuff? We spend way too much time at Waffle House, Lee's building a half-pipe in the garage (this is not a good thing,) and I'm certain the HOA is plotting our removal because we leave our trash can at the end of the driveway for too many days after pick-up.
Above all, it is my hope that, together, we can bring your operation and vision to new heights.
